Dinosaur National Monument

Dinosaur National Monument was a surprise park for us. We expected to see a small quarry of bones, but we under-estimated this park. This is a beautiful peace, with a river carving through the landscape to create beautiful canyons and mountains. When the Rocky Mountains were being formed, it pushed this whole area up like folded parts of a rug being pushed together. This is what exposed all the old rock layers that contained so many dinosaur bones. You can see bones still embedded in national rock formations that haven't been removed.
